My daughter was struggling in school. Nothing was "clicking". We were trying 1st grade for the second time and getting nowhere. A friend recommended a change of curriculum, namely BJU Press! It's just what we needed, with lots of hands on activity, and visual learning. We are 5 weeks in and it is amazing how much she has learned. We love Math and Reading now! No more tears!!!

We have been using Bob Jones Distance learning for 4 years. We will have four children schooling with this method in the up-coming school year! My husband and I labored over which curriculum to use in our starting up days. We carefully researched and are SO GRATEFUL we went with BJ! Picture having your child tutored one on one. It is an incredible production. It has suited all of our learner types! We are so grateful for the godly music used. We all love the funny plays and skits! They give the boosts needed for the grind of learning. Don't think it is all just fun and games-my children work hard! I feel free to allow them to speed up a teacher here or skip a work text there as needed. They have such a well-rounded education through this program! I knew I needed something for my son that would help him develop critical thinking skills. We are 3 weeks into his K-5 curriculum and he is showing huge improvements in how he is thinking through stories and such. His comprehension is increasing daily and we are able to work longer on where he needs help and speed through areas he seems to excel in. Everything is colorful and easy. The biggest bonus and both me and my son are having a great time. He is enjoying school and when we have to skip a day he is very upset.

My kids and I LOVE BJU Math! The teacher's guide is simple enough that I do not have to prep at all--just get out our box of manipulatives and start learning! The illustrations are bright and colorful and my daughter loves the characters and their story that lasts through the school year. This curriculum moves and a steady pace and reviews concepts each week, but just enough to help a child remember and feel confident it what they have learned. The activities provide enough movement and variation to help any child learn! This is our second year using BJU Math--we'll continue to choose it! My first grade daughter and 4 year old son learn very differently from one another, but the activities engage them both and they both learn! I love that my kids love math!!

My daughter loved BJU Reading this year. The readers progressed in skill throughout the year. The teacher manual was full of tips and discussion and comprehension questions from literal to interpretive. These questions are necessary to help develop the student's critical thinking. It is not enough to just read the words but understand the story. While my daughter's word reading skills could have moved faster, the comprehension material and skills being developed was spot on. We didn't find the program too fast or too slow... okay, Goldilocks "just right". The workbook was colorful. The stories were fun, some character lessons, classics, the works. GREAT program.

We use BJU mathematics already. But after using another social studies curriculum, we decided to take a second look at the Heritage Studies. Although the school year was half over we purchased it immediately. As a parent and teacher I am impressed with the way history was introduced using biblical references. I like that there is a text book to read and discuss. Also the consumable workbook is a great follow up activity. My daughter loves learning about history! She even looks forward to the tests that are provided. Social studies has always been a favorite but BJU has brought it to the top of her list! I would definitely recommend Heritage Studies to other homeschoolers.

This program is an answer to prayer for us! My daughter is a right brain visual learner and this curriculum has worked beautifully with her. The puppets, skits and computer graphics hold her interest and the [Distance Learning] teachers do a great job of presenting the subject matter to the children.

My son just finished using 3rd grade DVD Distance Learning and he absolutely loved it! He worked independently and really enjoys the video lessons. The teachers are great and kept his attention throughout the whole school year. I noticed how much effort was put into making these lessons. They make learning fun! I absolutely love BJU 4th grade DVD/Distance Learning! We really struggled with whether or not we could afford the program initially... but after having prayed and made the decision, and now experienced it for the past two months, I don't know how we could have afforded NOT to. The Bible is woven into every subject, with real life-application lessons. The classes are informative and even entertaining, so my two 4th graders pay attention and learn. When I have to work, we load DVD's and workbooks into backpacks and the kids have a mobile classroom! I can't recommend it highly enough!

We ordered Grade 4 DVD with books for our son and have been pleased with this Christian curriculum. We have noticed that BJU strives to make the education experience an enjoyable one. For instance, in Handwriting, there is an interview with a man from Hawaii that shares interesting information about the Hawaiian language. Also, Spelling introduces hink pinks to 4th graders which are fun, one syllable rhymes. One of the best activities in Science so far is one that uses tools to simulate bird beaks. And in Reading, there is a Western theme with a humorous character, Cliff, that, in one situation, inadvertently helps students understand the word, "irrelevant." It's been a joy to see our son laugh while he's learning.
